Vail Resorts: Seven Springs — Commercial

When my team and I were awarded a contract with Vail Resorts, we were excited to explore new terrain for us, filming in snow, on mountain. My producing partner Annie Varberg, production manager Katie Kranz and I first began to look for the perfect person to guide the creative. The twist is not only did they need to be a director, their skill sets also needed to include photography. 

Enter, Shannon Corsi who lives and breathes ski culture and who is an accomplished photographer. Our mission was not only to capture the ski scene at Seven Springs Mountain Resort, but also all the other million ways you could additionally have fun there. In fact once you arrive, you never have to leave, because there’s bowling, hot tubbing, axe throwing and the largest platter of nachos you have ever seen! 

This was also a project that reunited me with my dear friend and accomplished director of photography Seth Haley. With a lean crew and a big task at hand, we created an efficient strategy to target each of the resort's offerings while maximizing time of day, which is essential when filming on mountain. 

Once we entered post-production, our frequent collaborators at Voke Studios edited the piece and the various cut downs and versions that followed. Kendall Rittenour colored it and our good friends at BAM Studios brought it to life with incredible sound design. On the still photography front, Shannon delivered beautiful work that also helped elevate the resort’s brand. It was a team effort and we were thankful to work with the good people of Champion, PA who made us feel right at home one hot chocolate at a time.
