United Airlines — Commercial

My friends and family know that I often refer to my second home as being Chicago O’Hare International Airport. This is due to the fact that in my line of work, I travel a lot! And though after many years of countless travel, I am still enamored with airports, airplanes, and the business of flying. So when a project for United Airlines came up at O’Hare, I was very excited. Having worked with airlines and airports before, my Production Coordinator Katie Kranz and I jumped right into the process of securing the necessary permissions to not only film at an airport, but logistically manage a full production while in the midst of an active and busy airport terminal.

The creative was fun; capture comedic moments featuring Chicago based team mascots in and around the airport while fully in character. The lineup included: Staley Da Bear, Benny the Bull, Sky Guy, and Southpaw. Directed by owner and executive producer of Flightless Kevin Conway, the piece had a raw “Parks and Recreation” style to it which elevated the comedy of the spot.

Though I'm sure there were some passengers that were annoyed that a film crew was in the way of their means of transit, the majority were delighted to see these characters galavanting around the terminal. And the Chicagoans were out of their mind with excitement as true stans of local teams. 

Normally returning home from the airport at the end of the day after not flying anywhere would have been the end of a bad travel day, but this time I had a big smile on my face.
